The Best Time for a Yacht Charter in Miami
Miami has boating weather twelve months a year. The right month, day and hour depend on what you want from the day.

The quick answer
- Best weather: November through April. Dry, sunny and less humid.
- Best swimming: May through October. The bay is at its warmest.
- Best availability: weekdays, any month.
- Best light: the last two hours before sunset.
Miami by season
| Months | Weather | On the water |
|---|---|---|
| November to April | Dry season. Highs in the mid-70s to low 80s, low humidity, little rain. | Peak charter season. Clear skies, cooler evenings, the occasional breezy day behind a cold front. |
| May to October | Wet season. Highs around 90, humid, with thunderstorms that build in the afternoon. | Warmest water of the year. Morning and midday charters usually finish before the storms arrive. |
Atlantic hurricane season runs from June 1 to November 30, with the most activity from mid-August to mid-October. Most summer days are unaffected, but it is the reason to stay flexible on dates in those months. On any day of the year, your captain makes the call on conditions.
Time of day
- Morning: the calmest water and the lightest boat traffic. In summer it is also the surest way to stay ahead of afternoon storms.
- Midday: the sandbar window. Sun overhead, water at its clearest, everyone in.
- Sunset: the most requested slot we have. The skyline lights up as you come back down the bay.
How to time a sunset cruise
Sunset in Miami moves by almost three hours over the year: around 5:30 pm in early December and around 8:15 pm in late June. For a 4-hour charter, board about three hours before sunset. That gives you daylight for the cruise out and a swim, golden hour at anchor, and the skyline at dusk on the way home.

Weekday or weekend
Saturdays and Sundays are the busiest days on Biscayne Bay and the first to book out. Monday to Thursday you get more choice of boat, quieter sandbars and an easier time getting the exact hours you want. If your date is flexible, a weekday is the simplest upgrade there is.
