The flybridge is the centerpiece: a curved lounge around a round table under the shade top, with the helm beside it. One level down, the covered aft deck has a teak dining table with director's chairs, and steps lead down to the swim platform at the stern.

The salon has cream sofas, wood detailing and windows down both sides, so the bay stays in view from inside. Forward, the teak bow deck is the quiet spot on the boat.

A sample 4-hour charter on the Ferretti

Every charter is private, so this is a starting point rather than a schedule. Tell your captain what matters most — the swim stop, the skyline, the sunset — and the day bends around it.

1. 0:00Board on the Miami River

   Meet your captain and crew at 668 NW N River Dr on the Miami River, about 10 minutes from Brickell and 15 minutes from Miami Beach. Welcome aboard, a short safety briefing, music on.

2. 0:15Down the river into the bay

   Under the bridges and past the Brickell towers into Biscayne Bay. The skyline opens up behind you.

3. 1:00The islands loop

   Loop Star Island, Palm and Hibiscus Islands and run down past Fisher Island with the skyline behind you.

4. 1:45Anchor and swim

   Drop anchor in the bay; the swim platform at the stern is the way into the water. Nixon's Sandbar off Key Biscayne is the classic stop; your captain picks the spot for the day's wind and tide.

5. 3:15The slow ride home

   Back along the skyline with the city lighting up. Book the late slot and this leg is your sunset cruise.

6. 4:00Back at the dock

   Four hours on the water, door to door from the Miami River.
